What's YOUR Miracle?

According to the recent poll, we all believe that miracles do happen, and most of us believe we have experienced at least one at some point. There was mention of babies forming inside of a woman, which I agree is an incredible miracle that I have been blessed to experience three times now (and will experience no more, for those of you who think we're going to have another!). Since a whopping 11 of us claim to have experienced a miracle, I am curious to have you share what those were for you...for those who would be so willing. Simply leave a comment to this post for others to read. Thanks for sharing! I know that I am ALWAYS inspired when I hear about the way God works in other people's lives. God works in so many ways...even through dreams, I have learned (which is a topic for a post another day). So, please...if you would...share with us how you have seen God's hand in your life.

I voted yes, and was thinking of the birth of both my boys. I don't know how anyone can have a baby and not believe in and see the hand of God. I am overwhlemed every time I see new life, by how amazing and wonderful He is!

Which btw, did you know that Amy Walker had her baby on Sunday? A boy, named Samuel - he is AMAZING, I got to hold that little miracle this week, and he is pure love!

Life is a miracle. This morning as I was watching Rebecca and Jacob get on the bus, I prayed for their protection through the day, and I thought about your question, What's Your Miracle?". My life is full of them, this morning it was Rebecca, Jacob and Micah. That God would entrust me with three of His most precious treasures is pure joy. I am thankful.

I agree that life is a miracle as well as marriage. The fact that Beth lives in peace w/ me is a miracle.

I actually have 3 miracles that come to mind.

1. Beth and I heard that were were going to marry eachother before we were even close friends. It happened at the same church service at the same time while yet rows away from eachother. We didnt talk about it for a year after we heard it. This was my very first church service and the first time I though I heard the voice of God.

2. Beth and I were dating for a couple of years and trying not to have sex. (Ang, can I say sex on your blog?) Anyway, we were in the car and hadn't touched eachother in months. (Miracle) Anyway, things started to get a little hot and we decided to run to CVS and buy condoms. (Ang, can I say condoms?) We got back in the car, went to our spot, it got hot again. I go to pull a condom out and there were none in the box. CRAZY!! Brand spankin new box and no condoms inside. I was both ashamed and pissed at the same time. Anyway, God provided a way out of temptation that night, he literally stole my condoms. Now that is a miracle!!

3. One time we were so short for case that we couldnt pay our morgage. We literally got a $2500 check in the mail for no reason the day the bill was due. MIRACLE!

I'm certain this isn't very pious of me, but I am laughing to the point of tears over Matt's empty box. O.migosh.

Jan, I am in complete agreement regarding the birth of your kids. It's amazing how people can still deny God after such a miracle. I am also in complete agreement about how hysterical Matt's story is (though I'm sure at the time it was NOT funny!) God is good, though, isn't He? Matt, did you go get your money back or did you just let it go? Stacy, I absolutely love that you can see the miracles and hand of God at work in the simple everyday things of life. That is what I need to start focusing on more. I think I'd get a lot less aggravated in life if I did that. Thanks for sharing, guys.

One major miracle I have in my life is when I made the decision not to abort my now beautiful 20 year old daughter. It is a miracle (besides the obvious) because I had every opportunity ( in the worlds view) to give her up. I had an offer to have someone (an adult)to pay for it, lie to my parents and take me on a vacation to heal. I also had pressure for the biological father and his family to put her up for adoption.
I was young, scared, and it was so confusing. It is truly a miracle that I made the choice I did.

In 1990 my family was in a car accident that injured everyone in the family save myself. My father and mother were hurt the worst and were laid up for months. As a consequence, their business went bankrupt and we lost almost everything. The main thing we lost was a source of income. Insurance money never came and my parents weren't healing fast. It got so bad that for a stretch of 6 months we ate nothing but potatoes. (I credit my Mom for her creative genious feeding a family of 5 without much complaint.)

Towards the end of that time our last bag of potatoes from my Grandpa's garden was almost gone. My Mom fixed the last of the potatoes and the milk for dinner and informed us she wasn't sure what we would do the next day. Our refridgerator was empty except for ketchup and the last of the milk. My Dad had always enforced to us that God's children never go hungry. He prayed for our meal that night and thanked God for what He would provide the next day.

The next day was Saturday and I awoke to my Mom crying in the living room in my Dad's arms. (They had not told anyone of our food situation the entire 6 months; a combination of pride and embarassment.) I assumed the tears were of sadness but soon realized the exact opposite. Outside the front door and down the porch stretched like a line of soldiers were 21 bags of groceries. Everything from bread and eggs and milk to canned goods and everything in between. God had not let His children go hungry.

To this day we don't know who dropped off the food or how they found out about our needs. My Dad reminded us that God is a God of miracles. I hold tight to that promise.

Just to add to the empty condom Box.

Heck yeah I went to get my money back. We were pissed. Can you believe that they gave it to us? Crazy.

Chel, thanks for sharing your story about Lyndsay. She is a beautiful miracle! Sam, I'm not sure how I missed that you posted this story, but somehow I did - sorry! What an incredible testimony to God supplying your very basic needs. I always think it's cool when so many years later we still can't explain the who or where or how, you know? Very cool! Thanks for sharing!
